About Morpheme
Morpheme is a website editor for sites built with Astro and hosted on Cloudflare. It’s free and open source under the MIT license.

Under the hood
Three proven parts
- GitHubYour content lives as plain files in your own repository. Every save is one commit.
- AstroYour site is built ahead of time into finished pages that open instantly.
- CloudflarePages are served from a location near each visitor, and sign-in runs on Cloudflare Workers.
How saving works
When you tap Save, the editor first checks the page. If something’s missing, it tells you what and highlights the field until it’s fixed. Then your change is saved to GitHub, Cloudflare rebuilds your site, and you get a notification when it’s live.
Every save is listed under Earlier versions, and deleted photos can be restored from Deleted files.
Fast and safe
Built in, not bolted on
- Photos are resized for every screen
- Every page has a Content Security Policy, so only its own scripts run
- Your sign-in is a cookie only your site’s server can read
- No tracking or ad cookies before a visitor says yes
